With the stressful lives that we are living now, you may find it harder and harder to get to sleep despite being exhausted. Not getting a restful uninterrupted sleep may affect how your mind and body perform the next day. The common ways that we have all been advised to do is meditate and create a relaxing home environment, don’t think of the stress of work at home, exercise. But that is all easier said than done. If you are desperate for a deep sleep, here’s a cheat sheet that you can do right now!
#1 Start the sleep process ASAP
Different people need different amounts of sleep so it is important that you identify how many hours you need to bring out the best of yourself for the next day. On average, most people need about 8 hours of sleep and get to sleep faster when in complete darkness. Make it a habit to turn on dim lighting as soon as you get home from work, this allow your body to identify that it is relax time. If you are planning to sleep at 11pm, refrain yourself from using the phone or watch tv or anything that involves bright light.
CHEAT SHEET: If you absolutely have to watch youtube videos before bed, put it on low brightness or nightmode. Once it’s bedtime, turn off all lights. If you can’t sleep in total darkness, get a small table lamp with dark lampshade to minimize the amount of light in the room.
