When it comes to decorations for Chinese New Year, most people would think red, red and more red and not forgetting some orange hues. That, for some people, might be too overwhelming. However, if thats your style and preference, go right ahead, theres no right or wrong when it comes to decorating your homes.
Everyone knows where to get their dose of Chinese New Year (CNY) deco, dont they? The famous Chinatown; where you can get the widest range of stuff for CNY, not just deco stuff but also snacks and whatnots. Its quite fun, so head on down from now till the 15th; this Thursday to shop and soak in the festivities.
Before we get too carried away, lets get back to CNY deco and styling of your homes. If you are not into having too much red deco all over your houses, opt for some Chinese Antique design furniture that are not red in colour. Think, brown, black or dark colours like navy blue.
Little details can actually go a long way. Some simple items will give you the CNY vibes you are looking for. Also, it won't be too much of an eyesore if you keep them around the whole year.
For an extra touch, we added fairy lights and some angbao fishes to our pussy willow arrangements. The lamp in the corner also helped make the area more cozy. The gold ceramic stool gives some gold accent to the whole set up.
